This
tube bead reminds me of the verdé rose (minus the rose)
marble tiles in my bathroom counter. It's made using a base
of opal yellow rolled in copper leaf which is then "burned off".
The copper is actually absorbed into the glass rather than burned
off, creating wonderful shades of blue-green along with black
veins.

The bead measures 47mm long and is 6.6mm on the ends and 8.5mm in
the middle.
I've used 4mm Jet
and 5mm Indicolite Swarovski© crystals and antique silver finish
pewter heishe for accent. Verde is temporarily strung on
sterling silver wire. |
